Apartment – The Dreamer Evasive – B+

Submitted by admin on January 18, 2008 – 10:48 amNo Comment

First impressions can be so misleading. Its an understatement to say that Apartment grew on me after putting their album to rest months prior. After discovering Apartment through the Fifa 2008 soundtrack this past year, “Fall Into Place“, a song which fell on many UK rock fans’ best of 2007 lists, immediately struck me. I put it on my top ten for the year. After buying the album on iTunes, I soon discovered that there wasn’t much else to offer on the CD. This was back in October.

Now, 3 months later, Apartment continues to turn heads by showing up the rest of the Fifa 08 song list, and gaining further attention into 2008. Apartment’s The Dreamer Evasive also made Newsweek’s “The Year’s Best Music” highlighting “My Brother Chris“, “Fall Into Place” and their 2005 hit “Everyone Says I’m Paranoid” refeatured on TDE. You can’t omit my third favorite on the album, “Decisions of Legomen“.

The Times also featured “Fall Into Place” as one of their songs of the year. Congrats to Apartment on a great year! We’ll be looking forward for more to come from these guys.
