City & Colour – Bring Me Your Love: Out On Tuesday

Submitted by admin on February 10, 2008 – 10:48 amNo Comment

One of the more anticipated albums we’ve been waiting for here at MUF is City & Colour’s (Dallas Green) Bring Me Your Love, which will finally be released on Tuesday 2/12/08. Dallas Green, guitarist for Alexisonfire, released his solo debut Sometimes in 2005. Green sparked his solo career with his single “The Grace“, featured on the Neverending White Lights’ Act 1: Goodbye Friends of the Heavenly Bodies (2005).

If you have no previous knowledge of Dallas Green, his musical style is pure acoustic guitar ballads and an emotional twang in singing style. Green’s 2005 release Sometimes was eye-opening in that there are so many acoustic singer/songwriters out there, but none do it as well as Green. Perhaps its the extreme contrast from Alexisonfire’s screamo style to City & Colour’s quiet, meditated emotional lyrics fronted by a beautifully strung acoustic guitar.

You can listen to all of the tracks on Green’s MySpace page. From just one listen through, we recommend listening to “Waiting”.

Green can also be seen performing on MTV live on Wednesday the 13th. You can check out the video once it’s up on http://www.mtv.ca/video/.
