Film School: New Video “Compare”, Philly Show

Any new news about the San Fransisco band, Film School, has to be good. It was about five years ago I bought their Alwaysnever EP, and haven’t looked back since. Their much anticipated release from last year, Hideout, was amazing album for those already in the know, and just as anticipated, there were a few completely flooring tracks, many of which are still recirculating in my music library, “Compare” being one of my two favorite tracks from this album, and my favorite, “Two Kinds“. So, the big news this week – Film School has a new video!

I don’t know what it is that gets me every time I hear them – they’re not shining, happy or glamorous, but at the same time, their music doesn’t have a tinge of unbearing emotion. Simply said, Film School fills in those cracks that most pop-rock never had a shot at. There’s a murkiness I can’t resist, and a synth I can’t seem to avoid.

The pictures above are from a street show the band recently played in our own Philadelphia right out front of Sailor Jerry’s (great rum!). Believe it or not, they have a blog too… visit their site for more pictures as well as for a video they will be posting next week.
