Bands You Must Know: Cartridge

Submitted by admin on June 9, 2008 – 2:52 pmNo Comment

We love Denmark, which claims stakes to the hot dog and the world’s greatest dip. Perhaps you could all pass on those. What you shouldn’t pass on is Cartridge.

The four Danish rockers jig to a rejuvenating symmetry of simple synth, almost opaque bass beats, guitar fondling, amorous drum rappings and anything else that chills the tempo to the mood. When Mathias Wullum Nielsen, Thomas Hjorth Vesterbaek, Alex Phumoon Thomsen and Niels Fibaek Bertel begin whooping around the stage/speakers with their electro-enhanced sounds and gnarly assortment of vocals, it becomes hard to turn them off.

After listening to their newest album Fractures, I became addicted. With a demeanor as suave as The Fonz and a style as fresh as a snowball, Cartridge plays to every end of their well-pleasing spectrum. Listen to the songs below, and if you enjoy it as much as I have for the past month or so, buy the album. Nyde.
