The Boxing Lesson unleashes "Dark Side of the Moog" video
Published by musicunderfire on Friday at 11/07/2008We've wanted a good medium to showcase what brought our gaze to The Boxing Lesson, but nothing has quite fit our fancy. Their new album Wild Streaks & Windy Days was quite tough for us to just go through a dozen times and review (the genre isn't my forte), but now that a video has been released, it is time to break the news on this Austin-based group.
Composed of Paul Waclawsky (vocals, guitars), Jaylinn Davidson (vocals, synth) and Jake Mitchell (drums, samples), The Boxing Lesson flow smoothly with their psyche and rock predecessors. More importantly, they capture a piece of the universe in every one of their songs. This is where "The Dark Side of the Moog" video fits in.
The Boxing Lesson's best foot was put forth with their video below. Not only did they convey their psychedelic rock in a cool fashion, they explored past the boundaries of reality. Even if Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" was weighing heavy on their minds, the vibes and the psychedelia are clearly their own derivations.
