New Album Releases For Tuesday 11/25/2008

As the weeks grow nearer to the holiday season, the amount of new releases dwindles. This week is most likely the last week we will see any hard-hitting albums before the Christmas season since most music writers will be focused towards getting their ‘best of 2008′ lists ready. And aside from listing Kanye West, The Killers and GNR’s latest, there are some other albums we think you should put divert your efforts into listening. Without further ado….

We’ve hyped up their eight-song EP since over a month ago, and Coldplay’s Prospekt’s March EP has a stunning full version of their VLV opener, “Life In Technicolor II” as well as many other songs that didn’t “fit” into VLV, yet hold every bit of the same quality.

Also this week, Rivers Cuomo releases part two of his home recordings, Alone II: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo. We also urge you to start gearing up for the holiday season and listen to some indie Christmas songs with The Raveonettes Christmas EP.

If you’re into vinyl, Nada Surf’s box set 1994-2008 is available this week. It would make for a great Christmas present if you know someone who likened their 2008 success, Lucky. Lastly, Brian Eno teams up with David Byrn with their album, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today. Enjoy this week’s music!
