The blind duo of Amadou and Mariam from Mali have our hearts this week. We don’t understand a word they say, but we can definitely dig this undeniably refreshing assembly of songs. The album is a must listen to.

Jumping around a bit, Norway’s electronica pair Röyksopp have released their album Junior, which features Lykke Li, Anneli Drecker and Karin Dreijer. Expect this album to have swarms of remixes spawn from it.

Once again the trailblazers from Oregon, The Decemberists have yet another album out – Hazards Of Love. What the group continues to put forth in each album helps feed a desire to pick up their newest material. Expect another quality release.

For groups we have just run across, we have Jagjaguwar and SubPop to thank. Red Red Meat and Swan Lake both provide innovative and experimental efforts that speak well for both ‘indie’ Record Labels. Enjoy the new week in music!
