El Ten Eleven Mashed Up With Lil Wayne

We get some odd music in our inbox – more remixes than humanly possible to root through. This week’s treat was a track from thefiveone, a remix project formed by an anonymous group who calls themselves the Colors, broken down into color names for each individual: Red, Blue, Green and Gold. Their latest track titled, “Stuntin’ Like Mufasa” features some vocal tracks from the beloved James Earl Jones from the Lion King and loops one of our favorite tracks by the always gratifying El Ten Eleven, “My Only Swerving”. Add a Lil Wayne and we’ve got something we weren’t expecting would catch our ears.
The group claims residency in DMV (DV, Maryland and Virginia) blend pop, rock, and hip hop together as one. Their plan is to elease a remix song by other artists every week or the entire year. Artists included in their massive remix project which they’ve coined “5109″ will involve tracks from various artists such as Bob Marley, Lykke Li , N*E*R*D, Death Cab for Cutie, Gorillaz, Vampire Weekend, Kanye West, etc., etc. etc.. Look for more mashups from these guys to come.
From thefiveone:
This song is called “Stuntin like Mufasa” we always wanted to make a track eferencing the lion king and the parallel between that father son relationship with our own the added bonus was hearin this stuntin like my daddy remix on bearbot.com that just had tha indie rock / hip hop swagger that “thefiveone” represents …and this came about completely organically

These people took the original remix from bearbot with her mashup she’s had on her website for a while, and added some samples. I prefer the original. Give Bearbot some credit eh?
