Blacklist Into The Spotlight With New Album
Let the glamorous U2 references roll from your tongue or even the rigid White Lies ones. Blacklist has emerged onto the stormy indie rock scene with Midnight of the Century off of Wierd Records, which suitably so, was mixed by Ed Buller (White Lies, Slowdrive) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (U2, Nirvana, Muse).
The slick icy surface from the Brooklyn rockers shakes, reshapes and emits forceful bass riffs wound around ominous lyrics and a wildly jittery guitar. The group of Josh Strawn (vocal, guitar), James Minor (guitar), Ryan Rayhill (bass) and Glenn Maryansky (drums) doesn’t don caps of conservative, melodramatic artists, as many tracks cast a dark, cruel rock effort far from their influences, enabling a touch of impressionism at each turn.
Blacklist have several tour dates booked already, including a show with Boxer Rebellion at the Mercury Lounge. For more on Blacklist, check out their MySpace and the mp3 below.
