New Album Releases For Tuesday 7/28/2009
The UK has our attention this week with Blur, Ciam, The Radio Department, Reverend & The Makers and Howling Bells.
If we didn’t mention The Radio Department first, we would not be following up on our own leads. Tabbed as group to watch in 2009 by us, we said, “If you’re a fan of the Strokes or even Tokyo Police Club, these guys have the right mix for you.”
Blur‘s presence and influence has spanned a decade and when they release music, we listen. By the title alone, Midlife: Beginner’s Guide to Blur, this should bring listeners up to speed in a fashionable form.
Reverend & The Makers release the trendy pop this week with French Kiss in the Chaos. Ciam and Howling Bells also bring some intriguing Brit-rock to the mix this week with Anonymous and Radio Wars.
Heavy on our list this week is The Dead Weather. This group’s deviant rock has us feeling cool just knowing about them. Also, EMI’s Kleerup should be a must-listen for any electronica this week with their self-titled album. As usual, Canada leads the way with the folk music. Timbre Timbre contain something quaint and simple with harmonizing vocals in their latest self-titled work off of Arts & Crafts.
