Sea Wolf’s White Water, White Bloom Announced
Leaves in the River brought Alex Brown Church and the rest of Sea Wolf much further than the charming lead singer and guitarist could have asked for. Their live show turned an album we gave 7.9/10 into a show we can’t stop talking about.
White Water, White Bloom, which hits stores on September 22, marks the second album for the L.A.-based group, with Church’s lyrical direction once again leading the way. Sea Wolf’s lyrics chime heavenly folk stories, as the talented artists around Church graciously add to the colorful progression of emotions. As well as recording with Church, members of his live band include: Lisa Fendelander (keyboards), Ted Liscinski (bass) and Joey Ficken (drums). The presence of a cello appeared multiples times on Leaves in the River, although from what we have heard from the new album, the instrument has disappeared.
For us, folk plays better on vinyl than on CD, so make sure to pre-order the $20 180-gram vinyl package through Dangerbird which also comes with an album mp3 card and a 14″x14″ poster.
