The Envy Corps Prep New Album

Submitted by Justin on July 10, 2009 – 5:45 pmNo Comment

We last wrote about The Envy Corps when they were releasing Dwell on iTunes last summer, which was two months after the initial release.  It’s really a shame to not hear more about them, so we’ll open the door a bit wider on the Iowa boys.

Since last July the group has toured, visited Daytrotter, recorded an EP and then toured some more.  For a five-some that invests in all of the things we love about music – electrically-ignited guitar rock, poetic and emotion-driven lyrical ballads and tracks that jet from the start with all instrumental windows open to the changing weather – it isn’t a stretch to say The Envy Corps have earned their own watch list.

In June, The Envy Corps dropped their prelude EP (Kid Gloves) for their upcoming album, Palawan Scops/I Hate My Host Family, which hasn’t had a release date announced yet.  Although the EP hasn’t been released on iTunes  yet, Kid Gloves can be found at Smash.

For more on the group, head to their MySpace or Twitter since their regular site seems to be somewhat outdated at the moment.
