Bands You Must Know: Screaming Lights

By on 08/06/2009 – 12:40 PM3 Comments

Screaming Lights Band

Adding great music to our constantly growing list of ‘Bands You Must Know‘ is Screaming Lights.  The UK band claiming home to Liverpool, marks one of this year’s best surprises, while satiating our UK rock obsession.

Comprised of Alan Breen (bass), James Connor (drums), Max Goldberg (lead guitar, synth) and James Treadell (vocals, guitar, synth, piano, lyrics), the band has spend some time in 2008 playing supporting role to The Mystery Jets.  This year they played both the Reading and Leeds festivals and, with growing admiration from their fans, they have continued to keep working on singles which have been trickling out every few months.  They have also been touring this year with another one of MUF’s curious favorites from 2007, Nine Black Alps.

Their latest single, “Volts” marks another fantastic addition to their solid collection of single releases despite no LP in sight.  Volts was released on 7/28/09.  With the vocals of James Treadell, a nostalgic feeling of Paul Banks (Interpol) is found lingering while tight licks and heart-pumping drums carry in accord.  These guys are the real deal!
