New Album Releases For Tuesday 8/11/2009
Yikes, this list is extensive. A lot of groups MySpace labeled as punk/country are out there this week as well as ones from North Carolina. We’re not here to focus on things like that though, we just want good music.
Robert Pollard headlines this week’s artists. Pollard (Guided by Voices, Boston Spaceships) being the indie legend returns with another ‘solo’ project – Elephant Jokes.
Alt-rocker Cavo release Bright Nights Dark Days this week, which features the group’s crisply recorded soundscapes with hard-fought and almost angry anthems.
For a ticker and almost British rock, NC’s Reigning Sound have their Love and Curses album. This album is a bit rough around the edges with the vocals and clanging drums, but it works. Also, keep an eye out for Philly’s Brown Recluse [Sings]. The Soft Skin EP should turn some heads towards the group that just got hitched with Slumberland Records. Enjoy!
