Video: Metric – Sick Muse

By on 08/14/2009 – 4:29 PMNo Comment

metricMetric seems to be one of the talks of the town lately and I can’t blame people for latching onto them.  Emily Haines’ vocals at the head of the electric rock quartet remind me of Ladytron’s setup without the constant emphasis on bass, and that formula just works.

Along with James Shaw (guitar, vocals), Joshua Winstead (bass, vocals) and Joules Scott (keyboard, drums), the group adds a strong layering of instruments in their latest album, Fantasies.  A casual listen to their MySpace might get you interested, but in terms of a proper visual stimulant, a properly done music video rocks.

Through Dailymotion, the group has started a “Sick Muse” video contest (ends 8/18/09).  After checking out Vimeo earlier this week, we think we have our own favorite.  The video below is great.  Kevin Joelson used 3 Nikon DSLRs and took over 60,000 photos to complete this homemade video.  To find the official music video, head here.
