Circa Survive Hit The Studio

Submitted by Justin on September 18, 2009 – 5:48 pmNo Comment

circasurvivePhiladelphia’s Circa Survive announced at the beginning of last month that they were going to start working on their third album.  Now a month and a half later, the group has started to share some of this work.

For what will be their first record for Atlantic Records, the five-man group has turned to David Bottrill, who also produced albums for Tool and Moneen.  So far they have showcased drum and bass recording, yet throughout all of their videos a decent feel for the new album can be attained.

Since their last album (On Letting Go), lead man Anthony Green released his album Avalon with the help of Good Old War, whom he also toured with last Spring.  Incidentally enough, much of Good Old Wars vibes come through with Circa Survive’s music.

Circa Survive is composed of Green, Steve Clifford, Brendan Ekstrom, Colin Frangicetto and Nick Beard.  For more updates on the group, head to their web site, which showcases their many studio videos, or to their MySpace to hear their previous works.
