From The Vault: Cedars – Another Season

Cedars Band

Although many indie groups may come and go, some stay with us forever.  With Cedars, whose last album Another Season made a giant impact in 2007, we’re left with a stunning album from a group so talented.

Defunct since 2007, there has been no action since their last encore show in December of 2008, but the D.C. band’s music lives on.  As with any group we grow into, its hard to let go when a band decides to split, carry on their lives and disappear into everyday life.

Another SeasonCedars album Another Season greatest acheivement may be that they packed so many good songs into such a short album. Even in days like these, albums are crammed with filler just to make a complete album. The D.C. bankd would have none of that. With songs such as “Lamb” which has an outro like that of Jimmy Eat World’sGoodbye Sky Harbor” or “Arrivals / Departures” which is a two-fold song jamming out with an tier of chillout song all in one.

Holiday For The City” is nostalgic of some UK rock with the jangly guitars and catchy strumming. “This Century” begins the album with a blaze and a strong message. What more could you ask from an album? Its with our pleasure, we recommend you download Cedars Another Season if you’re looking to get caught up on a fantastic album.

‘From The Vault’ is a new section we will be writing about notable albums in recent times which we missed or have looked over and been recommended.
