If hitting your funny bone on a corner could be categorized by a music genre than this week’s music list has a ton of those uncalled for, yet humoring calls to react and be attentive.  Nothing to yelp at here.

Leading the way is Alan Palomo (Vega) and his project Neon Indian, who Pitchfork targeted as “Best New Music”.  It’s easy to tag an electronic-based group as new music, but this seems to carry the chagrin of Prince.  Fancy stuff, nonetheless, so check out Psychic Charms.

Fanfarlo returns with Reservoir.  The London group came across our desks a few years ago and we’re thrilled to hear about this album, which adjoins some older songs with some ripe tunes.

As always, The Flaming Lips exert quirky innovation at every robot blip and shutter.  These album deserve a place in every music collection and Embryonic is no exception.
