Remixes For The Weekend

Submitted by Justin on October 23, 2009 – 5:14 pm6 Comments

remixesforweekend2To get this weekend started off right we are switching things up.  Since many of the indie artists out there get added recognition from DJs, we thought it appropriate to focus on a few of these remix masters.

First off, Will from Spiral Into The Storm contacted us a while ago and his remix of Friendly Fires and even Pitchfork has given some cred to this.  Also earning some international airplay was Mike Foyle and X-Vertigo’s job on Empire  of the Sun’s “Walking On A Dream”, which Judge Jules played on BBC Radio 1.

Since we found out about Fever Ray earlier this year, tracks from the group have been flying into our inbox like mad.  The Bassnector Remix tops the list though, as Pitchfork have also caught wind of it.

Lastly, we have really enjoyed everything Adam Freeland has done on the electronic side of things, as we have consistently checked back to his website.

If you are a DJ and would like to get your remix out there, email us at musicunderfire@yahoo.com or comment on our posts.

what an amazing post! Great great tracks here!

  • [...] While it may not be of any new news to you, Thom Yorke’s track below “Hearing Damage” is fantastic and has been one of my most listened to tracks recently.  We’re also excited for Hurricane Bells’ release of Tonight Is The Ghost this Tuesday (November 10th), featuring their track “Freezing Rain”.  We would have mentioned it earlier, but a solid album from The Rifles (one of our favorite UK bands this year), have so many good tracks from their album The Great Escape.  As far as singles go, “I Became A Prostitue” by The Twilight Sad is among my favorite songs as of recent.  Something about these guys get me every time, despite how morbid the lyrics turn out.  Throw Me The Statue’s “Ancestors” has also been on repeat for me, along with all of these tracks really.  Between Metric and The xx below, clearly an abundance of good music can be found here.  We apologize for no remixes this time around since we somewhat exhausted ourselves last week.
