This is surely a week for every type of music person, whether psychedelia, shoegaze, anthem, Euro-pop or electro-rock get you going in the chilly Fall air.

Two unassuming groups that wreak their own kind of magical effervescence are The Notwist and The Cribs.  Germany’s The Notwist come from a background of punk, yet they have since become geniuses behind the speakers as they have cooled their hardcore jets.  The Cribs are maniacal with lyrics that confound and riffs that constantly explore; their latest album Ignore the Ignorant continues an enigmatic and jittery story.  Both groups deserve your attention.

Although not on our radar before we checked them out, Asobi Seksu, which is a combination of some great underground talents from Brooklyn, raised our eyebrows and we’re fired up about getting into them.  Even better, their current tour is with White Lies.

Lastly, Snow Patrol has released their ‘best of’ album, Up To Now while The Killers have a live edition, Live at Royal Albert Hall.  Two groups that have become so big, it would be hard to find someone who doesn’t know about them.  Enjoy the week in music.
