Tiësto’s Kaleidoscope Has Indie Touch

Submitted by Justin on December 24, 2009 – 12:39 pm4 Comments

tiesto_kaleidoscopeTiesto’s latests album, Kaleidoscope, showcases the many accompanying artists we try on a daily basis to bring to our readers.  The Dutch DJ’s albums aren’t like any of the music we typically cover, but the addition of some stellar vocals on his tracks definitely adds another dimension to his already stunning work.

Tegan & Sara highlight this extensive list of quality artists with their appearance on “Feel It In My Bones”.  The duo from Canada are prepping for a US tour with Holly Miranda and Steel Train to usher in sounds from their new album, Sainthood. Another artists we have gained interest since seeing her live in Philadelphia is Priscilla Ahn.  Hearing her vocals alongside Tiesto’s airy beats helps accentuate an already amazing voice.

From Bloc Party, Kele Okereke makes an appearance in “It’s Not The Things You Say”.  This track isn’t like Bloc Party at all, although just hearing the musician a bit outside his comfort zone is worth a listen to.

Among other artists on the album include: Jónsi, CC Sheffield, Kianna, Sneaky Sound System, Cary Brothers, Calvin Harris, Nelly Furtado and Emily Haines.  Make sure to check out this album as well as the artists mentioned on iTunes.

Everybodys intitled to their opinion, and Tiesto is intitled to produce whatever music he wants, but honestly, this is not a very good album! You can see he has tried to go in another direction with his music, but its not very good ! The first time i listened to it ( As i was eagerly awaiting his new album )it was
gratting on my ears ! It seems like a slapped together album ! I really hope he goes back to some straight forward dance / trance in the future, if he brings out another album !

The album does not flow thanks to the extensive guest list and it really doesn’t compare to In Search of Sunrise. Tiesto just announced that instead of the In Search of Sunrise series that really got everyone into him, he will be working on one called A New Dawn. Thanks for the comments!
