Acoustic Mix For The Weekend
This Friday’s mix is stripped down and strung together by some of the latest acoustic tracks out there from artists from all over.
Your Vegas‘ “It Makes My Heart Break” and some of their other unreleased music has us teeming for an upcoming album, while Nanna Øland Fabricius from Oh Land hypnotizes us once more with her edgy, yet soft, vocals. Metric‘s Emily Haines scores big points with the glam-free “Gimme Sympathy”, which really shows how acute her voice is even when synthesized beats cover her path.
About a month ago we wrote about Fleet Foxes‘ Robin Pecknold and his solo acoustic work – the track below was from those sessions. For a group that hinges on vocal harmonizing, it’s just a pleasure to hear the crisp, acoustically enhanced individual side. The same goes for the more solo-driven Conor Oberst from Bright Eyes in this version of “Milk Thistle.”
On the cover and reworked side, Delta Maid hits with the Strokes’ “Under Cover of Darkness” as Robotanists rock out Jay-Z’s “Exiled State of Mind.”
