Paper Route Loses Member, Eyes New Album
After releasing the full-length Absence in 2009, the once foursome of Paper Route has turned into a threesome and while the touring has momentarily halted, the wheels for a new album have been constantly spinning.
The Nashville boys scoured the country for nearly two years, recorded an album and three EPs, and completely exhausted themselves at the expense of getting their sound out there. When last summer came, it marked an end for member Andy Smith and a new direction for JT Daly, Chad Howat and Gavin McDonald (read the complete story here). From a genre-specific perspective, this direction lies on the pop side, but it also runs close to the dreams of the artists as they continue to separate themselves from the small venue shows that have kept them in indie anonymity.
With a new Summer ahead, Paper Route has been slowly chipping away at their amassed 80+ tracks to steer towards a finished product they feel will please fans, their label Universal and themselves. Expect a can’t miss release in late Summer along with a slab of tour dates to accompany it.
