Song of the Week: Jake Bugg – Two Fingers
It’s that time of the year where we start to look back and realize that we missed a few things, or in this case… that Jake Bugg didn’t make it to the States quick enough. His approach carries pop-rock from the UK as if McCartney was singing “Yellow Submarine” albeit with a tang of a bit more youth and sensible lyrics.
Bugg’s track “Two Fingers” is a big step forward for the young songwriter who also claims influences from Oasis and Jimi Hendrix. The track itself was part of a self-titled three-song EP released in October of 2012 as a teaser for a U.S. release and wouldn’t you know it if the other two tracks were just as impressively ear-catching.
