Up the Chain Drops Here I Haven Meet Video, Will Hit MilkBoy Philly 3/1

| On 23, Feb 2013

Philadelphia’s own Up the Chain, fronted by guitarist/singer Reed Kendall, just dropped a new music video for the song “Here I Haven Meet” from their 2011 release Holy Open Drying Road. This multi-genre folk/rock band will perform at MilkBoy Philly Friday night March 1st, along with Ryan Tennis and the Clubhouse band.

Directed by Kendall and shot by Seth Klinger, this very creative and clever video showcases the magical and ghostly movements of stop-motion animation.  We can feast our eyes on the keys of a piano going down by themselves, a guitar being strung, and musical equipment being set up before the band takes the stage.

The song that accompanies this video, (or maybe the video accompanies the song) is a slow little swamp-influenced tune, with some bluesy piano dancing above a I/V bass line, partnered with inter-melody trumpet swells.  But before the song is over, the tempo escalates to a much more chipper number that is perhaps more clearly evocative of New Orleans music, supporting that same sweet melody we hear in the beginning.
